The 2015 Black Canadian Awards will be held on Saturday June 6th in Toronto



Hi its your girl JA Nursing as excited as I am for this event I wanted to share this amazing event with you of which I will be inducted as a Black Canadian Award role Model 2015

 The 2015 Black Canadian Awards will be held on Saturday June 6th in Toronto. An event focused on showcasing several industries and empowering the community. "The Book of Negroes" by Lawrence Hill is nominated for best writer and literary work and actors like Shailyn Pierre-Dixon and Lyriq Bent who championed the TV adaptation of the book aired on BET and CBC early this year are both nominees for their extraordinary acting roles. Emmanuel Jal who worked with Reese Witherspoon in the movie 'The Good Lie' also got nominated for best actor and best African style artist for his music album, both launched last summer.
The new Toronto Police chief Mark Saunders, a recipient in 2014, will be the keynote speaker with the theme "Dream Bigger, Aim Higher", sharing on his core principles of excellence and aiming for perfection.
This ceremony will also award through a nomination and voting process, various artists and genres of music such as Best RnB Artist, Best Jazz Artist and Best Actor, just to mention a few. It will also feature a unique charity and talent scholarship focused women empowerment program called the Black Canadian Queens for the year 2015. Cpl Nathan Cirillo, a national hero, patriot and a great Canadian, will be recognized with a posthumous award.
"It's very exciting and inspiring to have all this very talented, committed and hardworking people come together in celebrating such a remarkable work, while using their accomplishments to inspire the new generation", Says Paul Ade, the executive director of the Diversity Advancement Network.
This years honoree list is filled with newsworthy achievers like Dr Alvin Curling, Frantz Benjamin, Mohamed Salih, Elcho Stewart, Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, Emily Mills, Bishop McEwan Sr., Orlando Bowen, Mary Galvan, Ricardo McRae, Ammar Kamara, Kathy Grant, Mary Galvan, Orlando Bowen and others. For the second year, the awards will be presenting 100 role models and achievers for induction into the "Wall of Role Models" with their full stories and much more. Many dignitaries are expected at this formal red carpet event on June 6th from 5pm. The Award Ceremony will be hosted by Hodan Nalayeh of Integration TV and Randall Mitchell, a Toronto based TV host and Author. There will be performances by Lisa Banton, Lorraine Scott, Leila Dey, Skibu, Powerhouse Fellowship Soul Choir, Sunset Service Choir, Doahl Academy, The Psalmist, Xolisa and much more. Several guests and nominees will be traveling from Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Calgary, Nigeria, South Africa, Jamaica, Trinidad, the US, UK and much more.

The 2015 Entertainment Industry International segment is a collection of the worlds best like Canada has never seen before. And the Nominees are Gyptian (Jamaica), Skepta (UK), Mokobé (France), Benjai (Trinidad), Davido (Nigeria), Stormzy (UK), Mafikizolo (South Africa), Little Simz (UK), Chronixx (Jamaica), Sneakbo (UK), Farmer Nappy (Trinidad), Afrob (Germany), Etana (Jamaican), Edem (Ghana), Yemi Alade (Nigeria), Eddy Kenzo (Uganda), Oritse Femi (Nigeria), Teeyah (Ivory Coast) and Destra (Trinidad) the 2014 winner for International Artist
A Leadership and Economic Empowerment conference will be held on Friday June 5th from 6pm at the Novotel Hotel at 3 Park Home Avenue, North York. This event is to steer and inspire our National Leadership direction to the next level. Focused on how we can work, fund and strategize together. This is a non partisan initiative. Expected to be contributing to the Friday panel discussions are Frantz Benjamin (Montreal Councillor), Mohamed Salih (London Councillor), Dr Alvin Curling (Former MP), Sophia Brown Ramsay (Mississauga former candidate), Lindsay Blackett (Former Alberta MLA), Abdul Abdi (Ottawa MP Candidate), Garnett Manning (Former Brampton Councillor), Rocco Achampong (Former Toronto Mayoral Candidate). This event will be hosted by Steve Kerr (former councillor candidate) & Tiffany Ford (School Board Trustee). This will also be an opportunity to meet and network with business professionals and some of the 2015 nominees.

The 2015 Black Canadian Awards is organized by the Diversity Advancement Network for Saturday June 6th at the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Theater in Toronto. This diversity event, celebrates success stories and achievements of trail-blazers and leaders within Canada and beyond. An induction ceremony will be held for the Role Models on Saturday June 6 at 5pm.

Voting begins on May 28th - June 4th, 2015. Nominees list was launched on May 22nd, 2015. Voting scores and ballot will be supervised by our nomination executive committee (an authorized independent body). Winners are chosen based on industry expertise, new work and fans feedback through a voting system
