JOIN THE ME-TIME CHALLENGE SAY GOODBYE TO STRESS

Hello,  it's your Girl JA Nursing here, Shake what your mama gave you it's a new day. Especially with all the disturbing news over the past couple of days,  I wanted to  check in with you.  I just came back from vacation but I came back to a lot of new changes in my life and a shortfall in my passion. So I thought to get back at it again with this blog.  Forgive me for my selfishness, but me time has to be started asap. I find that I spend so much time on others that I literally forget  about myself, even my vacation was focused on others and then I got sick while in Jamaica.  I don't know about you but by  Wednesday  my body screams  for me time. It's time to rediscover  alone time without feeling guilty; not only does alone time help you get in touch with your mental wellness but it is a true way of rebuilding on your thoughts.

Without me time, you are setting yourself up for a prescription called stress. We all know that stress  can  take a toll on your  mind, body, and soul; to further highlight this fact, here are some rules to me time that if not followed you may experience these physical and mental signs, that  will let you know that it's  time for   ME TIME.

Me time=  time spent relaxing on one's own as opposed to working or doing things for others, seen as an opportunity to reduce stress or restore energy.

Here are some #metime rules to follow: I know it may seem  hard especially with the kids being home from school.  but start with even 15 minutes a day, inform your children that "Mommy is going to take me time now. Just like any other relationship, it is important to set boundaries. Your children need to know that even though Mommy looks like "SuperWomen" she is not.
I used to tell my kids with that stern Jamaican accent "It's My time Now"  and eventually they understood that it was better for Mommy to take a break then be flustered all day long. Remember children develop intuition very early, Both of my children always knew when something was wrong and would just come to me, and look  into my eyes.  So don't feel bad about explaining to your children that Mommy needs time alone.  You may think that this may be interpreted as rejection,  But the truth of the matter is, that we need to establish communicating about our feelings with our children sooner rather than later. This also aids in helping children to  grow up  with the understanding that everyone has feelings. It really is the start to good relationship building and communication with your child.   If you have more than one child eventually,  your older child will start  advocating for  you  by saying "leave Mommy alone she's taking me time now. LOL

Finding time for yourself is an essential  for creating healthy habits. By Taking charge of your health and happiness, you will lower your stress, become more productive, and have more energy.

Do things that feed you mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. You’ll become a better parent, spouse, and a more effective team player at work. Remember Don't use your me time to start folding laundry, cleaning up the house or picking up the toys left on the floor. It may seem uncomfortable like your missing out on something that needs to be done, It may even seem more stressful at first to leave things undone, but you'll have more energy if you take a little time off. Giving yourself permission to slow down and relax for a few moments a day, or a few hours each week, will help you gain a fresh outlook and a renewed sense of perspective. So try  these 10 Ideas for Mom’s Daily “Me” Time.

5 Questions To Ask in 2016 When Hiring a Health Care Coach

Hi It's your Health Care  Advocate Michelle Smith here,  With the launch of my Health  Care Shield Membership, I just wanted to make sure  that you understand the journey that you will be embarking on. I will  explore what most health-care providers and fitness coaches will  overlook (like self-love, environmental influences, social determinants, and  medical factual knowledge.

It's up to you to decide if you're comfortable with the level of training and experience of the coach you intend to hire.

This is  guide is for you. As your Advocate my Goal is to make sure that you are knowledgeable  regarding making all the right choices. Add theses 5 questions to your list and you'll  get  the best!

If you have a specific illness or medical concern, ask their experience working with individuals like you. Are they licensed to treat people with medical issues? Are they aware of specific needs you may have or certain limitations?
In some cases, it may be important to find someone who is both a licensed health care provider and a holistic health coach (there are a few of us out there!). We're trained to handle any medical issues that may come up and facilitate healthy changes in the safest and most effective way.

2. How do you work with people holistically?
As complex human beings, our health is a combination of our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. When striving to make health changes it's important to be mindful of all areas of our well-being.
Many coaches are trained in one thing: nutrition, personal training, spiritual guidance, behavior change or weight loss.
Not all coaches or health care providers are equipped to handle all aspects of your health and that's OK! It's rare to find someone who is well trained in all these areas (and I would be leery of anyone who claims to have mastered all of them).
A coach should be aware of the importance of treating people holistically and have the tools — or a good referral network — to help you in key areas during your quest for better health.

3. What are your tools for helping me get unstuck?
Most people seek the help of a health coach when they're stuck. They've tried to make changes but have found blocks, resistance and challenges.
Usually  clients come to me "stuck," it's because they haven't explored the mental, emotional or spiritual factors that affect their health. It's often here where fears, resistance, self-sabotaging behaviors and self-deprecating thoughts must be healed.
Exploring these areas can be intimidating and scary. A coach should be able to sit in this space with you and feel comfortable with the uncomfortable stuff that comes up. They also have the tools and training to do this with you in a safe, healing environment.

4. When would you refer me to a licensed health care provider?
It's very important to be clear with your coach what their scope of practice is. Many coaches are not medically trained and are not licensed to diagnose, treat or knowledgeable to support  medical illness.
Just because a coach has worked with people with a certain disease doesn't mean they're certified or qualified to treat you medically.
A good (and confident) coach will know their limitations and be willing to discuss them with you. They should be comfortable admitting, "I don't know how to help you with this" or saying, "I think a more thorough work-up by a health care provider is needed."

5. Would I still be in control of my health?
If Your Answer is Yes  Keep Reading
Lasting health changes only occur when a client takes ownership of her own healing. We're unique, intricate beings with different personalities, motivations and challenges.
It takes time for me to intimately understand my clients and guide them toward the best methods and approaches for them. One size does not fit all!
I love when people say to me, "that won't work for me" because we get to come up with lots of ideas on how to make health work better for them. In fact, when something doesn't work it usually helps us more specifically find what does ... and this is how we create success in our health!
Hiring a health coach can be a great addition to your health care team. Asking the right questions will help guide you in finding the best fit for your needs.

It's Time to be in charge of your health lets connect   Do you want a more proactive approach to staying healthy?
If You answered yes  then Keep reading http://ow.ly/W4zpQ

10 Qualities Of A Real Man Love Zone In Session

Hi it's your girl JA Nursing here, since I just celebrated a milestone with my blog and my endeavors. I figured that I had to do this topic. Since I'm a health and social advocate what alters our health and Social structures more than a relationships or lack of it. So many have questioned am I single or taken? I love to say I'm in training for greatness. Through my journeys of JA Nursing in Toronto Streets, some of the common stories heard is girl I'm single there are no good Men.  Well as Billy Ocean Said " welcome to the love zone"

10 Qualities Of A Real Man

Guys, pay close attention here because there are literally millions of women out there who are dying to find a great man.
If you’re failing to live up to the following, or don’t know what the qualities of a real man are, you better shape up. Because someone else out there is.
Ladies, if you know a man that comes up short in any of the following areas, or it’s your guy, please pass this along to him.

1)  A Real Man Welcomes Adversity
He invites cooperation and competition, because he knows his self-worth and is comfortable with his capabilities.  He is not afraid to ask questions when he doesn’t know the answer.
2)  A Real Man Is A Leader
He thinks before he acts, making sure all the details and specifics are in order so when he does make a move, it’s a confident and determined one.  He makes decisions while considering and valuing the input of others and those closest to him.
3)  A Real Man Is Independent  My Favorite one
He does not need a woman in his life to be happy but he appreciates, loves, respects, and truly values her if she is.
4)  A Real Man Is Assertive
He stands up for for what he believes in, behind his convictions,  his words, and himself.  He does not seek approval, supplicate, or beg.  He is responsible for his own actions, and taking action when necessary.

5)  A Real Man Is Honest
He knows being straight forward and upfront is the right thing to do.  He is faithful and respectful when it comes to managing his relationships (business and personal).
6)  A Real Man Has A Plan
He knows what he wants and he goes for it.  He develops a structure from which to act, and get’s better in accomplishing every successful step of it.
7)  A Real Man Is On The Level
He is able to  keep his cool in moments of stress and bends without breaking in the face of adversity and dire circumstances.
8)  A Real Man Is Present
He is there for his spouse or significant other, children, family, and friends. He supports them in the right way, and does not enable unhealthy behavior.

9)  A Real Man Has A Sense Of Timing
He knows when and when not to crack a joke.  He’s charming and chivalrous – in the right way (i.e. opening the door out of respect and appreciation, not because he feels he has to, or because she cant).
10)  A Real Man Embraces Success
He is not afraid to win and knows the value and growth that comes with losing.  He knows that a rising tide raises all boats, that there is plenty of room in the winner’s circle,  and wants others to succeed, too!

I could certainly keep going on, and I will.  It’s amazing how easy it is to see these things, yet so many fail to do on a daily basis.  Guys, what do you think?  Ladies, we love hearing your take, too.  Is there anything you would like to add?  Hit the share buttons below to sound off…
