FIND OUT WHY YOU SHOULD BE ADDING PARSLEY TO YOUR GROCERY LIST

Hi  lovely readers it your girl  JA Nursing here, with  winter reaming it's ugly head, I will continue to look for alternatives solutions.  Be aware  that the information that  I provide does not replace  medical advice. The knowledge that I am giving you is at best, an empowerment tool. My goal is help you advocate for your self with your health care provider. Our services provide you with the convenient health coaching approach, which will enable use to feel empowered for the rest of your life.

During the fall and  winter chronic illness sufferers have a harder time with maintaining  a healthy life style. It's a fact that individuals sometimes become less active  when it is gloomy and cool outside.  Which can lead to increased arthritis flare ups, or difficulties keeping diabetes under control  due to  most people going back into old habits with those delicious comfort foods that tend to keep you warm in the winter.

I went on another search. Parsley is one of those herbs that I would say hold the same merit like thyme in  a West Indian household  minus the health benefits. Most of my Italian clients swear by parsley and it's benefits so let me share with you what I found. The health benefits of parsley include controlling cancer, diabetes, and rheumatoid arthritis, along with helping prevent osteoporosis. Furthermore, it acts as a pain reliever with anti-inflammatory properties. Parsley also provides relief from gastrointestinal issues such as indigestion, stomach cramps, bloating, and nausea, while helping to strengthen the immune system.  Parsley is the same like cilantro, used for garnishing and seasoning soups, stew and sauces. Nutritional Value Of Parsley Fresh Parsley is a nutritional powerhouse with vitamins A, B, C and K and the minerals iron and potassium.

Beyond water weight, parsley aids in balancing blood sugar, helping with long-term weight balance. It also plays a key role in preventing the degenerative effects of diabetes on the liver.
Here are five more reasons to include parsley in every meal:
1. Reduce your cancer risk
Eating parsley can reduce the risk of cancers such as breast, digestive tract, skin and prostate. Parsley contains high levels of a flavonoid called apigenin. Not only does apigenin possesses remarkable anti-cancer properties, it’s also a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. apigenin is emerging as the toughest cancer fighter in the produce aisle. In addition to parsley, celery and artichokes, you'll find it in apples, cherries, grapes, chamomile tea and wine, and in herbs such as tarragon, cilantro, licorice, spearmint, basil and oregano.

2. Improve your immune function
Parsley may help to modulate the immune system. Parsley essential oil has been shown to suppress an over-stimulated immune response making it a key player in the fight against allergies, autoimmune and chronic inflammatory disorders.
3. Beat inflammation
detoxing parsley shakeParsley helps to reduce the pain and swelling associated with arthritis. Parsley contains a volatile oil called eugenol that has been shown in studies to have strong anti-inflammatory as well as anti-arthritic properties and can significantly suppress swelling in the joint.Parsley Parsley is gluten free, therefore, best herb to reduce the symptoms of allergies. Parsley has antibacterial and antifungal properties work as a cleaning agent and cure skin infection, acne, dark circles, and blemishes. Yeah!

4. Fight disease
Parsley offers protection from a wide variety of diseases – from atherosclerosis, diabetes and colon cancer to asthma! Parsley is an excellent source of vitamin C, which is a key nutrient in the processes that neutralizes the free radicals that play a key role in the development of these diseases. Parsley oil is also used as a face pack but always use it diluted otherwise it can burn your skin. Antioxidant in parsley prevents from free radical damage reduces the sign of early aging
5. Protect your blood vessels
Parsley is a good source of one of the most important B vitamins: folic acid. Folic acid helps to reduce homocysteine. Homocysteine is a naturally occurring amino acid in the body but high levels in the blood can damage blood vessels increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke. This emerald green herb is popular among starlets who want to drop extra water weight before big events because it helps to reduce water retention and bloating (edema). It’s a natural diuretic, which helps to eliminate excess fluid without depleting the body of potassium.sodium including dietary fiber.

Always remember not everything that glitters is gold use  every thing in moderation. Consumption of parsley especially in large quantities, may have side effects and disadvantages. Some of them include the following:

Risky for Pregnant Women: The consumption of large quantities of parsley may induce uterine contractions during pregnancy. At any stage of pregnancy, this can be very risky. Large amounts of parsley are not safe for women who are breastfeeding. Avoiding excessive consumption of parsley during pregnancy and breastfeeding is strongly advised.

Oxalate Over-consumption: Parsley has a high quantity of oxalates. This high concentration can be particularly problematic for people who suffer from kidney stones.

Here’s an incredibly potent detox green smoothie for you that is also an excellent source of iron. It contains iron-rich greens like dandelion and parsley, which also facilitates detox.
Pineapple sweetens it up nicely while supplying the protein-digesting enzyme, bromelain.
I added the pear to help thicken it, if you don’t have pear you can always add apple. This smoothie is slightly bitter so if you’d prefer to have it even sweeter, then use a medium banana instead of pear or apple.
This smoothie is also full of fiber with 17.9 grams.
Pregnant women should not consume parsley. Parsley contains an essential oils called apiole. Apiole is a kidney stimulant. Because this essential oil can stimulate uterine contractions, pregnant women should avoid eating large quantities of it.

Iron-Rich Pineapple Detox Recipe

  • 3 cups dandelion greens, chopped
  • 1 large pear, cored
  • 2 cups pineapple, cubed
  • 8 ounces of filtered water

Your love therapy with THE Real Single Ladies of Toronto

RSL Presents: The Way To A Man's Heart "Cook Off" on

Valentine's Day 2015

MEET THE REAL SINGLE LADIES OF TORONTO

Hi it's your  Girl JA Nursing  HAY   #teamsmarties so it's official, the one week count down has started to the big  V,  Valentines day,  February 14 2015.  As we know this day can be an  absolute disaster for some women and men. I'll let it be know that i'm an official member of the single's club. Yes JA Nursing is Single. I support the movement very much, as a single women in Toronto it has been quite the challenge to find a partner that see's things eye to eye. The goal of partnership and courting has lost a lot of value and my question would be why? Is shivery dead?  is age a factor, children, education. Im at a lost for words so I'll definitely commend the REAL SINGLE LADIES OF TORONTO for starting  the dialogue about Love Therapy and relationships.

On February 14th, 2015, The Real Single Ladies of Toronto ® is hosting an event called
"THE WAY TO A MAN'S HEART".
This event is an old fashioned cook-off... where The Real Single Ladies of Toronto ®  (RSL) will be competing against each other for a Grand Prize: the "Man's Heart Trophy". This event will be held in Scarborough; it will feature Live Music, Sweet treats, and Signature Drinks, as well as spreading awareness and donating to Push Community Empowerment Society (PUSH - OCN # 1880234).

JA NURSING MEETS LADY ELLE, THE FOUNDER/CEO OF REAL SINGLE LADIES  FOR A CANDID SIT DOWN...

Who exactly are "The Real Single Ladies of Toronto?

* We are a group of vibrant, intelligent,  and outgoing women; creating a platform through events, videos, and social media that discusses love, dating, & relationships with a partners, friends and family, as well as the relationship we have with ourselves.
We also focus on any issue that impacts us a women.

What inspired you ladies to start this?

*Well, we're being bombarded by reality TV these days, except it all seems far from reality,  at least our reality.... especially as single women.  Now don't get me wrong I love me some Nene & RHOA,  but the lifestyle & drama projected in the media, of women, single or not just doesn't match up more often than not with what we as women go through.

Do you face haters that feel being single is something that should not be focused on in this manner?

*Absolutely, but we wouldn't classify them as haters.... generally speaking we all grow up, both men & women, being taught that we should aspire to find love & settle down in a partnership of some degree. Even us at times struggle with the downsides of "being single". So we try to focus on the upsides,  it's empowering to know that at what ever stage you are in your life there's goodness there! There's fun, & laughter, & learning.... even happiness,  & that exists for single people as well.
The Real Single Ladies have an event coming up this Valentines Day called THE WAY TO  A MAN'S HEART..

Is this an attempt to find love?

* This is the most original event in Toronto; it's a good old-fashioned cook off competition,  recorded live, with entertainment from the Black Liqourice Live Band, Celebrity Host Darling Nicky & judges Dwayne Morgan & Kofi Sereboe. We will be featuring, Erotica poetry,  Signature drinks & sweet treats as well.  The only love we're trying to find is in the form of votes from the judges.... unless prince charming happens to arrive.. Then I'll have to find my glass slippers. Seriously though, We are very passionate about engaging our community and this great city, which is why we are very excited about this event & we will also be donating to PUSH Community Empowerment Society, a not-for profit grassroots organization in honour of Black History Month.

Do you think the way to a man's heart really is through his stomach?

*I think it's a great first step! But I don't think your cooking alone will keep you there.... otherwise I'd have the heart of many men.  Cooking for me at least is an expression of love, it's a process of creating an experience on a plate & when you share that with others it can be quite intimate... In more ways than one wink wink!

After this,  what's next for The real Single Ladies Of Toronto?

Well, we have some juicy, interesting & important topics to tackle on The Status, which airs weekly on Wednesday nights at 11pm,  on www.Hiphop.ca   We will be launching an 8 webisodes reality/talk show on our YouTube channel in the near future & for the rest you just have to stay connected & wait & see!

Your all invited to purchase your tickets through this link

This has been your Love Therapy Moment with Michelle Smith I am your  your Health and Social advocate.  This Topic is very dear to my heart and I wish You all well hugs. We  want to here from you what is your opinion on this interview?  What is the way to a man's heart?
