BALL HARD OVERVIEW OFFICIAL

BALLHARD  JUNE 27 2014

Hey Its your Girl JA Nursing  here I'm excited to share  this event that I attended in the summer.
As part of  my Mission Social advocacy and Social literacy mean taking an active role in helping to facilitate change. We ask how does this start well as A Mother of 2 children ages 20 and 15 there is no better place to start than at Home.

Register at www.ballhardnetwork.com hurry space is limited.

That was the message I saw via social media Taisha Bird Provincial Youth Outreach Worker/ Steeles-L'Amoreaux  Agincourt Community Services Association  ballhardnetwork on instragram
My Message reaching out to our west was As the summer starts let's enter in as parents community leaders and ask the community to #standUp for our youths #NoMoreGUNViolence go register your youths if they love #BasketBall  or come out and #support #communityawareness  Big up at #teambodybychosen  @ballhardnetwork  #communitylove.

So the decision was easy to join these East community leaders and show that only as adults  we can start the change to unite all  sides of the city, with a common Passion Basket Ball.    BALLHARD (@BALLHARD_NET) | Twitter

The Ball Hard Network  presented  the 4th Annual Ball Hard 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament for high risk youth ranging 13-21 years. This 2 day event consisted of workshops on Gang Violence Awareness Intervention/Prevention with a 3 on 3 basketball tournament. On the second day, in addition to the Tournament it  included a fun game with the police playing against members of the community. (BODYBYCHOSEN) ROCKED THAT GAME As well  they added  youths from across the Greater Toronto Area  and added them to the big Game.

The Goal of this day became apparent,   playing  for someone you've lost to violence and to continue to help change the minds of our youths and all involved, Main Message OUR YOUTHS MATTER.

I joined  the event with My Team Hoop's R Us team members

And We Won....... But this win was well worked for, As  A Mother and a Coach I saw all the emotions involved with my team feeling defeated through various different games but I said "Boy's Don't Give up Its Not always about  Winning, Its about Team Work and trying your best".

JANE FROM FINCH  WAS ONE OF THE SPEAKERS AS WELL AS  A COMMUNITY LEADER  THAT  I HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE TO WORK WITH, BUT HER MESSAGE IS REAL.
The transformation to Community Leader isn't easy but its one that she felt was a much needed. With her surroundings and emotions being challenged by seeing her fellow community  and family members  loose their lives  to Violence. Her diverse experience and community engagement with a successful music career fused with a passion to help change outcomes for our youths. Another great role model in our community who is committed to changing the face of knowledge. With the phrase "WATCH ME GROW" Creature won 'Best Director' at the Commffest Film Festival 2014 in Toronto.

'Creature' is the ferocious and angry former gang leader from one of Canada's most notoriously violent neighborhoods known as Jane & Finch. We are given intimate access to a world where Lato
